Disband Ahmadiyah or Muhamadiyah?

Isn’t it hilarious? reading that news really brighten my day hahaha.  Hey lady, your son bombed those people, those are innocent people and please, make up your mind, is it Muhamadiyah or Ahmadiyah you want to disband? :p

Seven Pounds

How far would you help someone? what’s your limit?
Would you donor one of your lungs to your brother? Would you donor your corneas? your liver? what about your heart?
Would you spend your whole life just to find the perfect ones to donor your organs to?

I guess this what Ben is doing, searching for the perfect ones to donor his organs as his way to apologize himself from what he has done to someone he loved and people that effected from it.

It actually gave me some ideas of how you could actually help people. You donor your organs, they will be useless anyway when you die, buried or cremated. So why don’t we start thinking about it.

Such a moving movie, at first i didn’t know what the movie was up to, glad i kept watching it untill finish. Very recomended.

Hardy won’t shutdown properly

One of the problems i got from the user in my office is, it’s hardy won’t shutdown properly, it always stuck with an error line like this “… need to put acpi=force to make acpi working …”

The error line is very clear there, telling us to add a command line in the menu.lst.

This is how to solve it. edit menu.lst

$sudo vim /boot/grub/menu.lst, put a command acpi=force between the line :

kernel  /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.24-16-server root=UUID=cce77746-6057-4a05-9a05-5f186c35add0 ro quiet splash

and then just reboot

A little break from work

Fiuugh … it’s been a while huh. I planned to say that i was so busy, hehehe, but so much for the excuse, hahaha.

But actually yes, i was busy working, i got a job now at UGM rektorat building, as a … i am not sure what i call myself, i think i am a helpdesk, but i am not only helping users for their Linux (Ubuntu) problems, but also a little networking, how to extract VCD to AVI, “Purbaaa .. help me with my laptop, i can not connect to the internet, it said something with proxy refused”, etc. *Oh .. just now i came from Bu Cuk’s office, to teach her using Gimp*

Since i am pampered with the internet connection here *it is extremely fast (sometimes) hehehe* it is less frustrating for me to try packages in Ubuntu. Curently i am running Ubuntu 8.04 Server, and besides that i have no excuses not post my experiences in following up users’ complains.
